On the afternoon of September 11, the Ministry of Home Affairs held a press conference for the third quarter of 2026. Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang chaired the press conference.
At the press conference, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs Bui Huy Tung informed about the outstanding results of the first 8 months of the year and the key tasks for the last 4 months of 2026 of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Regarding some key tasks in the last 4 months of 2026 of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Chief of Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs clearly stated the group of tasks to advise on improving the quality and efficiency of local government operation at 2 levels.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Home Affairs will closely follow Conclusion No. 76-KL/TW of the Party Central Committee, Conclusion No. 64-KL/TW of the Politburo and related conclusions of the Politburo; take the lead in advising closely, effectively, and improving the quality of activities of local authorities at 2 levels, especially at the grassroots level.

The Ministry of Home Affairs focuses on completing the core model of commune-level administrative units; completing the Submission amending and supplementing Resolution No. 112/2025/UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on standards of administrative units and Decree No. 307/2025/ND-CP on classification of administrative units.
In addition, the Ministry of Home Affairs will submit to the Government and complete the dossier to submit to the National Assembly Standing Committee on commune-level urban administrative units.
In particular, after issuing the Resolution on the core model of commune-level administrative units, the Ministry of Home Affairs will guide dossiers for localities that need to arrange commune-level administrative units.
The Ministry of Home Affairs also developed a Project on community self-management models for villages and residential groups, and reported to the Politburo and the Secretariat in September 2026.
