In particular, delegate To Van Tam - Member of the National Assembly of Kon Tum province expressed his approval and appreciated the Government's report on the socio-economic situation in 2024 and the first months of 2025.
Regarding the current public concern, which is the situation of production and trading of counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods, smuggling, and trade fraud, delegate To Van Tam cited data showing that the above situation has almost declined and is complicated, despite the efforts of the authorities.
According to the delegate, in 2023, the Market Management force detected and handled 52,251 violations of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. In 2024, there will be 47,135 cases.
In the first 4 months of 2025, localities and functional units have arrested and handled more than 34,000 violations, collected more than VND 4,892 billion to the state budget, and prosecuted 1,450 cases with more than 2,100 subjects.
"Fake goods and counterfeit goods not only cause economic damage but also directly threaten people's health and lives, reduce the reputation of genuine brands, reduce people's trust in domestic goods, hinder the development of the economy, lose state budget revenue, and cause instability in the investment environment," said delegate To Van Tam.
The delegate also said that the circulation of fake food, fake medicine, fake cosmetics and other products on the market for many years shows that the tricks of the production and trading subjects are very sophisticated and complicated.
In addition, through many cases that have been cracked down by the Ministry of Public Security, it has been shown that there have been the assistance of a number of cadres who have degraded and degraded their qualities, ethics and lifestyle in the production and trading of counterfeit goods...
"In addition to the phenomenon of counterfeit goods spreading on social networks with the promotion of some influential people, famous people with explosive advertisements, the picture of counterfeit goods has enough color and color, making it difficult for consumers, no matter how smart they are, to distinguish fake products circulating on the market," delegate To Van Tam shared.
According to the delegate, the management of production, trading of goods, and food safety management has been assigned to functional agencies from the central to local levels, but counterfeit goods and trade fraud are still complicated.
Therefore, the delegate suggested that the Government should strengthen inspection and review the process of organizing the implementation of functions and tasks of those agencies. Is there any overlap between management units?
In addition, there needs to be a legal framework for consumers to be compensated for the effects, damage, and losses in money and health in cases related to counterfeit goods and trade fraud.
At the same time, the prevention of counterfeit goods and trade fraud needs to be raised to the national strategy level to further improve the quality of prevention work.
Delegate Le Huu Tri - Member of the National Assembly of Khanh Hoa province said that we are striving to build a civilized and happy society, so we must seriously fight against all types of crimes, especially crimes related to counterfeit goods.
Delegates suggested the need to quickly change social governance methods to be more effective, not allowing these types of crimes to have an environment to survive and develop.
In addition, there needs to be a legal corridor to strictly punish crimes related to counterfeit goods.
"There needs to be qualifications, detections and strict handling of law enforcement officers who have covered up and condoned crimes," said Mr. Tri.
