On April 28, Ca Mau province held the 19th session of the 10th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026.
At the meeting, delegates voted to approve the draft Resolution on the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units of Ca Mau province and the draft Resolution on the policy of arranging Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces. The project will be completed and submitted to the competent authority before May 1, 2025.

Ca Mau province currently has 100 commune-level administrative units (ADUs) including 82 communes, 9 wards and 9 towns. After the arrangement, Ca Mau province has 39 commune-level administrative units, including 35 communes and 4 wards, reducing 61 commune-level administrative units.
Regarding the arrangement of Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces, the provincial-level administrative units after the arrangement are Ca Mau province (new) with a natural area of over 7,000 km2, a population of over 2.6 million people and 64 affiliated administrative units (55 communes and 9 wards). The administrative - political center of the (new) Ca Mau province is located in the current Ca Mau province.
Also at this session, Ca Mau Provincial People's Council considered to stop the position of Head of the Legal Department of the Provincial People's Council for the term of term 2021-2026 for Mr. Nguyen Son Ca, due to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to quit his job before age to enjoy the policy as prescribed.
At the same time, to dismiss 6 members of the provincial People's Committee due to retirement before age, transfer work, including Mr. Doan Quoc Khoi - former Director of Department of Finance; Phan Tan Thanh - Former Director of Department of Science and Technology; Trinh Van Len - former Director of Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Tran Hieu Hung - former Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Tran Hoang Nho - former Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minority Committee and Mr. Ma Minh Tam - former Director of the Department of Construction because he was appointed as Deputy Director of the Department of Construction (based on the consolidation of the Department of Construction and the Department of Transport).

At the session, delegates also agreed to approve Resolutions related to socio-economic fields, such as: allocating the central budget regular expenditure estimate to implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority Areas in Ca Mau Province in 2025; Project to adjust the General Planning for the Construction of Nam Can Economic Zone, Ca Mau Province to 2040; adjusting the payroll of civil servants, number of employees...
