On the afternoon of February 3, at the Can Tho City Party Committee, a meeting was held to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2026) and quickly announce the results of the 14th National Party Congress.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Quang Tung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee emphasized that after 96 years of formation and development, the Communist Party of Vietnam founded and trained by the great President Ho Chi Minh has led the people to carry out long-term and arduous revolutionary struggles, overcome many difficulties and challenges and achieve great victories.
From a colonial, semi-feudal country, Vietnam has become an independent, free country, developing along the path of socialism. The people from slave status have become masters of the country, masters of society. Our country has gradually risen, becoming a developing country with a middle-income income, promoting industrialization, modernization and proactively and actively integrating internationally.
For Can Tho city, despite going through many difficult and challenging periods, the Party Committee and People of the city always promote the tradition of solidarity, bravery, dynamism, and creativity; striving to promote socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the Mekong Delta region.
In the coming time, the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee requested to focus on deploying research, learning, thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, associated with the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels for the term 2025–2030 and the theme of 2026 of the City Party Committee. At the same time, well lead the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the term 2026–2031.
In addition, continue to promote the building of a clean and strong Party and political system; streamline the organizational structure, operate effectively and efficiently; promote economic restructuring, administrative reform, improve the investment and business environment, and develop the private economy. Strengthen the prevention and combat of corruption, wastefulness, and negativity; consolidate national defense and security, maintain social order and safety, and ensure a peaceful life for the people.
