Can Tho plans to welcome officials from Hau Giang and Soc Trang after the merger

Can Tho - Can Tho City develops a plan to send and pick up cadres, civil servants and public employees from Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces to work in Can Tho City.

On April 21, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Can Tho City Pham Van Dong signed document No. 861 to Phuong Trang Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company on developing a plan to transport and pick up cadres, civil servants and public employees from Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces to work in Can Tho City.

The document clearly states that Resolution No. 60-NQ/TW dated April 12, 2025 of the 13th Party Central Committee on merging provincial-level administrative units will be implemented. In which, Can Tho City, Hau Giang Province and Soc Trang Province will be merged, named Can Tho City; the administrative - political center will be located in the current Can Tho City.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Can Tho City assigned the Department of Construction to study the plan to hire a means of transport to transport and pick up cadres, civil servants and public employees from Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces to work in Can Tho City, and report to the City People's Committee for consideration and approval to organize implementation.

Can Tho City Department of Construction requested Phuong Trang Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company to support the development of a plan to transport and pick up cadres, civil servants and public employees from the center of Vi Thanh City (Hau Giang Province) and the center of Soc Trang City (Soc Trang Province) to work in Can Tho City using suitable types of transport of the company operating in the city. Completion time is April 2025.

The Department of Construction also assigned the Urban Traffic Management and Operation Center (under the management) and the Department of Transport Management and Traffic Safety to closely coordinate with the company to develop an optimal transportation plan, ensuring convenience for officers, civil servants and public employees of the two provinces when moving to work at the new administrative center.
