On the afternoon of February 22, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh visited and wished Tet to officers and soldiers of the Department of Police for Investigation of Crimes of Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling (C03) - Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces in the renovation period.
At the visit and Tet greetings, the Standing Deputy Prime Minister said that, through the cases being dismantled, C03 has made very positive contributions in detecting inadequacies, loopholes, and shortcomings in the operation of the legal system and policy implementation, thereby advising the Party, State, and Government to supplement and improve the legal system and policy mechanisms.
2025 is the year of holding Party Congresses at all levels, the police force in general and the economic police force in particular have made great contributions in the work of selecting candidates, thereby helping functional agencies eliminate candidates who do not meet the standards and conditions to enter Party committees at all levels, contributing to cleaning up the Party committee apparatus at all levels.
C03 has discovered and cracked down on many major cases, creating certain "turmoil" in the system, contributing to warning and deterrence in society and in the political system.
Through the cases being dismantled, a large amount of corrupt assets has been recovered for the state, making practical contributions to the results of the fight against corruption, wastefulness, and negativity.
Analyzing the context, situation, and tasks set for 2026 in particular and in the 2026-2031 term in general, the Standing Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that we have entered a new era, an era of acceleration, breakthrough and development; we set many expectations and goals, including the goal of double-digit growth for many consecutive years.
To do so, we must find new growth drivers, restructure the economy, innovate the growth model, and improve the quality of investment attraction, especially foreign investment.
In implementing the double-digit growth target, the scale of public investment will increase very much. The process of growth and breakthrough development is also associated with the process of urbanization and industrialization very strongly and quickly, land will also have to change its land use purpose on a very large scale to serve development goals.
From this reality, it poses very big challenges for the economic police force in the fight against corruption, wastefulness, negativity, economic crimes in the development process, especially the work of preventing high-tech crime; issues raised in the management of virtual currency, digital assets, exchanges, and stock exchanges; issues arising in the implementation of diversifying capital mobilization channels for the economy.
At the same time, C03 needs to continue to promote advisory work in law-making, institutional improvement; propose new mechanisms and policies related to economic management, prevention of violations, violations, and economic crimes.
Actively advising and contributing to building laws, mechanisms and policies, issues of policy and law implementation in protecting dynamic and creative people who dare to think and dare to do for the common good without corruption, negativity, or self-interest.
Pay attention to effective coordination, accompanying ministries, functional sectors, and localities in removing difficulties and obstacles for projects that are still outstanding.
