    Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, is the only female leader among the 23 secretaries of new provinces and cities appointed by the Politburo.

    Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van - Member of the 13th Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the 13th Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, has just been appointed by the Politburo to be Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee (new) after merging with Kon Tum province.

    On January 30, 2021, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van was elected as a member of the 13th Party Central Committee.

    From July 1, 2025, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, member of the 13th Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the 13th Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, was appointed by the Politburo to be Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee (new) term 2020-2025 after Quang Ngai province merged with Kon Tum province.
