Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee has just announced a list of appointments for the new positions of Chairman and Vice Chairmen of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee.

On June 30, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province solemnly held a ceremony to announce the Resolution of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee on the establishment of the new Lao Cai province on the basis of merging the two provinces of Yen Bai and Lao Cai; establishing communes and wards in the new Lao Cai province; decisions of the Central Committee, the Politburo, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Prime Minister, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and of the two provinces of Lao Cai and Yen Bai on the establishment of the Provincial Party Committee, Party Committees of communes and wards and appointing personnel to lead the provincial and commune levels of the new Lao Cai province.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister appointed Mr. Tran Huy Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee to hold the position of Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, term 2021-2026.

Mr. Tran Huy Tuan was born in 1974 in Van Yen district, Yen Bai province.

Professional qualifications: Irrigation engineer; Bachelor of political economy; Master of natural resource and environmental economics.

The Prime Minister also appointed 4 people to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee for the new term 2021 - 2026, including:

Mr. Nguyen The Phuoc, member of the Standing Committee of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term.

Mr. Nguyen The Phuoc was born in 1974 in Lao Cai town, Lao Cai province.

Professional qualifications: University, majoring in bridge and road construction; Master of Traffic Construction Engineering.

Mr. Ngo Hanh Phuc, member of the Standing Committee of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term, Vice Chairman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term.

Mr. Ngo Hanh Phuc was born in 1973 in Yen Bai city, Yen Bai province.

Professional qualifications: University of Finance and Accounting; Master of Business Administration.

Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh, member of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term, Vice Chairman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term.

Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh was born in 1975 in Yen Binh district, Yen Bai province.

Professional qualifications: University majoring in Chemistry, Political Economics; Master of Political Economics.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sinh, member of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term, Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sinh was born in 1972 in Me Linh district, Vinh Phuc (now under Hanoi).

Professional qualifications: Irrigation engineer.

The new Lao Cai province after merging from Yen Bai and Lao Cai has a natural area of 13,256.92 km2 (reaching 165.7% of the prescribed standard); the population is 1,656,590 people (reaching 184% of the prescribed standard).

The new Lao Cai Provincial Political - Administrative Center is located in Yen Bai City, Yen Bai Province (currently). Geographical location of Lao Cai province (new) borders Tuyen Quang province, Phu Tho province, Son La province and Lai Chau province; People's Republic of China.

Lao Cai province after the merger has 99 commune-level administrative units, including 10 wards and 89 communes.
