On the afternoon of September 4, in Hanoi, the signing ceremony of the Work Coordination Program between the Supreme People's Court (SPC) and Vietnam Television (VTV) for the period 2026-2030 took place.
At the signing ceremony, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang raised many requirements related to providing and transmitting information about adjudication and judicial activities to the people.
According to Mr. Quang, units under the Supreme People's Court and courts at all levels must proactively provide accurate and timely information and introduce good models, judgments, and cases of legal education value.
In particular, units need to coordinate to verify issues of public concern and create conditions for reporters to work in accordance with regulations.
The provision of information must ensure the principles of judicial independence, state secrecy, human rights, and citizen rights as prescribed by the Constitution and law.
Chief Justice Nguyen Van Quang said that in the current context, judicial activities face many new requirements. Besides the increasingly complex nature of cases, there is the rapid development of technology, artificial intelligence, multi-platform communication and the situation of fake news and false information in the online environment.
According to the Chief Justice, the press cannot be the only channel to solve these problems, but the participation of the entire political system is needed. In which, legal agencies and courts need to accompany press agencies.
The coordination will contribute to conveying complex legal issues in a more understandable and closer way, thereby helping people understand correctly about the position, functions, and operations of the court as well as judicial work.
Mr. Quang emphasized that the effectiveness of coordination is not only measured by the number of news, articles or broadcast time, but must also be assessed by the quality of information, legal education value, public opinion orientation ability and the level of consolidating people's trust.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of VTV Nguyen Thanh Lam said that for many years, VTV and the court sector have coordinated to implement many programs to help people better understand judicial and legal activities.
In the period 2026-2030, VTV identifies three main directions of coordination, including diversifying the content and forms of legal and judicial propaganda; improving the quality and responsibility of information; expanding public approaches on digital platforms.
In which, VTV will coordinate to transmit information promptly, accurately, and verified, especially for cases that are attracting public attention.
Legal and judicial content will also be strengthened on VTVGo and VTV's digital platforms, with appropriate expressions for each public group, especially young people.
At the ceremony, the two sides signed a working coordination program between the Supreme People's Court and VTV for the period 2026 - 2030.
Chief Justice Nguyen Van Quang requested that immediately after the signing ceremony, the units assigned to concretize the program with specific plans and products, ensuring that coordination is carried out regularly, substantively and effectively.
