On the evening of May 31, leaders of Phong Quang Ward People's Committee (Hue City) informed that a particularly serious traffic accident had just occurred in the area, killing a child and seriously injuring another person.
According to initial information, at about 4:40 pm on the same day, at Km24+320 National Highway 49B, passing through The Chi Dong 1 residential group, a collision occurred between a truck with license plate 38C-116. xx and a motorbike with license plate 75C1-125. xx driven by Mr. P.V. H. (born 1993).
At the time of the accident, P.V. T. K. (born 2020) was also on the motorbike. The strong collision caused K. to die on the spot, Mr. H. was seriously injured and was taken to a medical facility for emergency treatment by people.
Immediately after receiving the news, functional forces were present to protect the scene, divert traffic and investigate the cause of the incident.
Notably, this is not the first time serious accidents have occurred on this road section. Previously, on the morning of January 22, also at Km24+320 National Highway 49B, a dump truck traveling in the direction of Phong Quang - Thuan An collided with many vehicles including two motorbikes, one bicycle and one electric bicycle.
The accident killed two people on the spot, and two others were slightly injured, causing a stir in local public opinion.
Currently, the cause of the latest accident is being further investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
