On January 1, the Government Office announced that Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc had just signed Decision No. 1689/QD-TTg on targeted supplementation from the central budget in 2024 for localities.
According to the decision, the amount of VND 6,434,437 billion from the 2024 central budget estimate that has not been allocated according to Resolution No. 105/2023/QH15 dated November 10, 2023 of the National Assembly is allocated to supplement the 2024 central budget for localities as proposed by the Ministry of Finance in Official Dispatch No. 14444/BTC-NSNN dated December 28, 2024, including:
Targeted supplement from the central budget to localities in the amount of VND 5,834,437 billion to implement social security policies for the years 2023-2024 and support payment of benefits for the number of additional teacher positions for the school years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024.
Targeted supplement from the central budget to localities in the amount of 600,000 million VND to implement the project to strengthen management of land with capital from state-owned agricultural and forestry farms.
The Ministry of Finance and the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities assigned to supplement the budget stated in this decision are responsible for the contents, data, reports, and proposals, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
The management, use and settlement of the above-mentioned additional funds must comply with the provisions of the State Budget Law and relevant laws; ensure timeliness, compliance with policies, efficiency, thrift, publicity, transparency, and prevent loss, waste and negativity.
