Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Official Dispatch No. 86/CD-TTg dated June 10, 2025 of the Prime Minister requesting ministries, branches and localities to proactively respond to tropical depressions that are likely to strengthen into storms and floods.
The content of the telegram clearly states that at 1:00 p.m. on June 10, the center of the tropical depression was at about 15.3 degrees North latitude; 114.8 degrees East longitude, about 360 km East Southeast of Hoang Sa archipelago. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6 - 7, gusting to level 9, moving slowly in the West Northwest direction at a speed of about 5 km/h; on June 11, the tropical depression is forecast to strengthen into a storm.
At the same time, from the night of June 11, the area from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai is likely to experience a period of heavy rain with a total intensity of 100 - 300 mm, some places over 450 mm; the Northern Central Highlands will have rain from 70 - 150 mm, some places over 200 mm; locally heavy rain may appear over 200 mm in 6 hours.
To proactively respond to tropical depressions that are likely to strengthen into storms and have a risk of heavy rain causing flooding, flash floods, and landslides, the Prime Minister requested the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and cities to closely monitor the developments of tropical depressions, storms, and floods.
At the same time, proactively deploy response work in accordance with specific local situations, focusing on ensuring safety for ships and vehicles at sea (including tourist ships).
Proactively evacuate households in areas at high risk of landslides, flash floods, and deep flooding to safe places; ensure safety of vulnerable works, unfinished works, industrial parks, urban areas, residential concentrated areas, and production activities in low-lying areas.
The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to monitor, forecast, and provide complete and timely information to competent authorities to serve the direction and response of natural disasters according to regulations.
Proactively direct and urge localities to deploy response work in accordance with the developments of tropical depressions, storms, and floods; direct the work of ensuring the safety of dykes, irrigation reservoirs, and agricultural production.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade directs the work of ensuring safety for industrial production and safety of hydroelectric dams, especially for small hydroelectric reservoirs.
The Ministry of Construction directs traffic guidance and ensures traffic safety in flooded areas, promptly resolves incidents, and ensures smooth traffic.
The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security proactively direct and coordinate with localities to deploy response, search and rescue work, ensuring timeliness and effectiveness.
