On the afternoon of April 28, Can Tho City organized a meeting to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South, national reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2026), International Labor Day May 1 and the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2026).
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen - Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee - emphasized that the event is an opportunity to express our respect and eternal gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh - the genius leader, national liberation hero, outstanding cultural figure of Vietnam - the person who glorified our nation, our country; the exemplary international communist soldier, a close friend of nations who have been and are fighting for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress around the world.
Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen informed that in the history of the nation, Can Tho has gone through 51 years of building and developing with the whole country. In particular, now Can Tho with the converging strength of 3 provincial-level administrative units: Soc Trang, Hau Giang and Can Tho City, has created a comprehensive strength, expanded administrative boundaries, with many potentials and strengths, promising new achievements in all fields, affirming the new step of the new Can Tho City.
In the coming time, the Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee requested to closely follow the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws; promptly and synchronously concretize the Central Government's mechanisms and policies with the spirit of innovation, breakthrough, determination, resolutely unblocking and removing bottlenecks and obstacles and maximizing potential, internal strength, and new development space.
