After being elected as Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee for the new term, on the morning of April 20, in his speech, Mr. Do Thanh Trung said that he had fully received the directions of Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Ngoc Chau, and at the same time strictly complied with the principle of democratic centralism, the Working Regulations of the Party Committee Executive Committee and the City People's Committee; properly performed functions and tasks according to the provisions of the Constitution and law; continued to strive to study, cultivate, train and maximize knowledge, capacity and accumulated experience in the working process to contribute to the development of the city.
According to Chairman Do Thanh Trung, in the coming time, the city determines to focus on effectively implementing a number of key tasks:
Continue to consolidate the streamlined organizational structure, operate effectively and efficiently; create a strong shift in discipline, order, sense of responsibility and quality of service to the people of cadres, civil servants, and public employees from the city to communes, wards, and special zones.
Promote decentralization and authorization associated with proactive inspection, supervision, commendation and timely and strict discipline; promote the responsibility of heads; maintain administrative discipline and order; resolutely eliminate cadres and civil servants who have negative, indifferent, and harassing behaviors in the performance of official duties; improve the efficiency of law enforcement organization, service quality for people and businesses; build an action-oriented, incorruptible, and effective government, with people and businesses as the center of service, creating a modern, competitive and effective investment and business environment.
Focus on successfully implementing the socio-economic development plan for the period 2026-2030; striving to achieve the economic growth rate target as set out by the Resolution of the 1st City Party Congress, term 2025-2030 (from 13-14%/year) associated with improving the material and spiritual life of the people; promoting the role of the marine economic center, the gateway to international trade of the region; promoting the development of modern industry, seaport services and logistics; expanding and promoting existing growth drivers, in parallel with creating new rapid and sustainable development momentum for the city.
Effectively implement planning work; complete the preparation and approval of important plans to ensure progress and quality; prioritize synchronous and modern development of socio-economic infrastructure systems, especially strategic infrastructure to meet the city's long-term development goals.
Pay attention to comprehensive development of cultural, educational, health, and social security fields; improve income, material and spiritual life of the people.
Continue to consolidate national defense and security; build strong armed forces; maintain political stability, social order and safety; closely link socio-economic development with ensuring national defense and security, especially in sea and island areas...
