On the afternoon of August 8 (local time), Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, left the capital Luanda, successfully concluding the state visit to the Republic of Angola at the invitation of President Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco and his wife.
Previously, the farewell ceremony for the President and his wife was solemnly held at the President of Angola.
The car carrying President Luong Cuong and his wife entered the Presidential Palace in the welcoming music.
President Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco and his wife welcomed President Luong Cuong and his wife at the parking lot and respectfully invited the President to step onto the podium. The military band played the national anthems of the two countries.
Then, the President of Angola invited President Luong Cuong to visit the honor guard. At the end of the ceremony, the two leaders gave each other warm hugs, believing that this visit is an important milestone in the history of bilateral relations and a driving force to help the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Angola reach a new height.
Welcoming President Luong Cuong and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport in Luanda were Minister of Foreign Affairs vete Antonio; Ambassador of Angola to Vietnam Fernando Miguel; Provincial Governor Luanda Luis Manuel daonseca; Director of the State New Year's Eve Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Angola Jorge Pataca.
On the Vietnamese side were Vietnamese Ambassador to Angola Duong Chinh Chuc; and officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Angola.
During the visit, President Luong Cuong had a successful meeting with President Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco; met with National Assembly Chairman Carolina Cerqueira; worked with leaders of the People's Liberation Movement of Angola; met with the Vietnamese community in Angola and attended the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In particular, President Luong Cuong delivered an important speech at the special plenary session of the Angola National Assembly.
The two sides also issued a Vietnam - Angola Joint Statement, demonstrating the commitment and determination of both sides in opening a new phase in bilateral cooperation.
After 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations, Vietnam and Angola have overcome all changes of the times, always demonstrating the persistent, steadfast and loyal solidarity of friends, comrades and brothers.
This state visit of President Luong Cuong is a solid foundation for the two countries to continue to develop the relationship well and sustainably, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability and prosperity in each region and in the world.
