The President acknowledged and highly appreciated the Ambassador's contributions to promoting bilateral relations during his term through exchanging delegations at all levels, organizing cultural promotion events, coordinating mutual support at international organizations and multilateral forums.

Ambassador Jaime Francisco Rodriguez said that during his recent term, he has received a lot of affection and support from the State, the Government, departments, ministries, branches, friendship organizations, businesses and people of Vietnam, thereby helping the Ambassador and the Embassy personally complete their assigned tasks.

The Ambassador expressed his impression of Vietnam's development steps in recent times, considering it a model for the Dominican Republic to follow; at the same time, he emphasized that the Government and people of the Dominican Republic always have special affection for the country and people of Vietnam and will always support Vietnam in multilateral forums.

According to Ambassador Jaime Francisco Rodriguez, in recent times, with the coordination and support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese departments and branches, the Embassy has effectively contributed to the official visit to the Dominican Republic by Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in November 2024, creating an important milestone, opening up many cooperation opportunities for both countries in many areas where both sides have strengths and can complement each other, such as agriculture, construction, telecommunications, science and technology.

The Ambassador also thanked Vietnam for participating in supporting the restoration of the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in the capital Santo Domingo of the Dominican Republic. Along with Juan Bosch statue in Hanoi, these are works symbolizing the friendship between the two countries.

The Ambassador affirmed that in the coming time, regardless of the position, it will continue to contribute to fostering the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, especially in 2025 when the two countries prepare to organize events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Agreeing with the assessments of Ambassador Jaime Francisco Rodriguez, President Luong Cuong affirmed the consistent policy in Vietnam's foreign policy of continuing to promote and strengthen relations with all countries, including Latin America and the Dominican Republic.

The President stated that Vietnam wishes to develop comprehensive cooperation, both in politics - foreign affairs, economy - trade and cooperation in education and people-to-people exchanges, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, contributing to peace, stability and development in the two regions.

The President suggested that in the coming time, the two sides continue to exchange information on the need to promote and expand cooperation, coordinate to concretize the agreements signed during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit in many areas, thereby deepening and diversifying bilateral cooperation.

The President said that bilateral trade exchanges between the two countries have made progress in recent times, but are still not commensurate with the potential and strengths of each country, so the two sides need to coordinate to further promote economic, trade and investment cooperation.
