According to VNA, President Luong Cuong expressed his pleasure to meet again with Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China Truong Huu Hiep and through Lieutenant General sent his sincere regards and deep thanks to General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping for his feelings for Vietnam and the President personally.
The President affirmed that Vietnam and China are neighbors linked by mountains and rivers, with a traditional friendship of "both comrades and brothers" built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh, Chairman Mao Zedong and previous generations of leaders of the two countries, which is a valuable common asset of the two peoples and needs to be preserved, inherited and promoted; emphasizing that Vietnam always considers developing friendly and cooperative relations with China an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralization.
The President said that Vietnam always strongly supports and firmly believes that the Chinese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with General Secretary and President Xi Jinping as the core, will successfully achieve the second 100-year goal and make ever greater contributions to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Lieutenant General Truong Huu Hiep expressed his joy on his first visit to Vietnam as Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission; congratulated Comrade Luong Cuong on being elected President by the Vietnamese National Assembly; and congratulated the socio-economic development achievements that Vietnam has achieved over 40 years of renovation.
The two sides expressed their delight at the strong developments in bilateral relations in recent times. Especially after the visits of the two Parties' senior leaders, a new position was established, raising the level of the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, promoting the building of a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future with strategic significance in the direction of "6 more", contributing to bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries as well as maintaining peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
President Luong Cuong highly appreciated the results of the talks between Vietnam's Minister of National Defence, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission Phan Van Giang and Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China Zhang Youxia, and was pleased to see that the bilateral defence relationship continued to have new and effective developments, in accordance with the signed documents and agreements between the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries.
The President suggested that in the coming time, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence of the two countries continue to promote and deepen bilateral defence cooperation through the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level delegations; and effectively maintain existing cooperation mechanisms.
Lieutenant General Truong Huu Hiep said that this visit and work in Vietnam is to concretize the common perception between the senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries as well as promote the exchange and cooperation between the two armies in the fields of defense and security to continuously deepen.
Stating that 2025 is the year Vietnam celebrates the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations, Lieutenant General Truong Huu Hiep affirmed that the two sides will continue to adhere to the path determined by the senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries; at the same time, strengthen cooperation in all fields to build a Community of Shared Future of strategic significance for the benefit of the people of the two countries.
