On the afternoon of October 21, at the 8th Session, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh presented the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the election of Mr. Luong Cuong as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term.
With 100% of delegates voting in favor, the National Assembly passed a resolution to elect Mr. Luong Cuong - Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat to hold the position of President for the 2021-2026 term.
This Resolution comes into force from the date of approval by the National Assembly.
Immediately after the National Assembly passed the resolution, President Luong Cuong performed the oath of office ceremony.
In the presence of the National Assembly, standing before the national flag, his left hand placed on the Constitution, his right hand raised high, President Luong Cuong swore: “Under the sacred red flag with yellow star of the Fatherland, before the National Assembly and voters nationwide, I, Luong Cuong - President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, swear: Absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, to the People, to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, striving to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, State and People”.
