At the invitation of Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, this morning, September 30, President of the National Assembly of the People's Power, Chairman of the State Council (Chairman of the National Assembly) of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez arrived in Hanoi, starting an official visit to Vietnam and co-chairing the second meeting of the Vietnam - Cuba Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee from September 30 to October 5.
Welcoming President of the Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernandez at Noi Bai International Airport were: Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang; full-time National Assembly delegate at the National Defense, Security and External Affairs Committee Thai Quynh Mai Dung; Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes and staff of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam.
Taking place right after the State visit to Vietnam by First Secretary and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel in early September and the State visit to Cuba by General Secretary and President To Lam in 2024, the visit of National Assembly Chairman Esteban Lazo Hernandez is of great significance in continuing to promote the effective implementation of high-level agreements between the two countries, especially in the fields of agriculture, energy, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
