The Cuban people's support program exceeds the 420 billion VND mark, 6.4 times the set target

According to information from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, as of 4:00 p.m. on September 8, 2025, the Campaign to Support the Cuban People has reached about VND 421.5 billion, more than 6.4 times higher than the original target.

The program will be held for 65 days, from August 13, 2025 to October 16, 2025, with the goal of mobilizing a minimum of 65 billion VND to support the Cuban people to overcome some of their difficulties.

The program has received the attention and direction of the Politburo, the Secretariat, leaders of the Party, State, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front; the close coordination of central departments, ministries, branches, and organizations, provinces/cities, People's Committees, and Fatherland Front Committees of provinces and cities. The program also received support from a large number of cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, officers, soldiers, students, laborers in all fields, especially the majority of people.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh - Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, just 30 hours after launching, the Program received 65 billion VND, achieving the initial minimum target. After 48 hours of launching, it doubled the initial target (130 billion). After more than 3 weeks of launching, the Program has received more than 2 million supports.

As of 4:00 p.m. on September 8, 2025, the Program has reached about VND 421.5 billion (more than 6.4 times higher than the original target). Of which, through the 2022 account (Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank) of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, it is 406.897 billion VND with more than 2 million donations; through the Red Cross Society of provinces and cities, it is nearly 13.4 billion VND.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh, this is the first time an international campaign program of the Vietnam Red Cross Society has achieved a scale of millions of donations and hundreds of billions of VND in just a record short time.

Timely and transparent information about the donation amount, the number of donations along with support and support from central and local press agencies, communication channels of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, and social networking sites (in Vietnamese, Spanish and English) have contributed to the strong spread of the Program.
