At noon on September 16, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation left Hanoi, leaving for the 46th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46) at the invitation of Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives, AIPA President 46 Dato' Johari Bin Abdul and an official visit to Malaysia at the invitation of Speaker of the Malaysian Senate Dato' Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah from September 16-20, 2025.

The participation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man in leading the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation to attend the AIPA-46 General Assembly continues to affirm the Vietnamese National Assembly's commitment to actively participate and contribute to promoting the role of AIPA in maintaining peace, stability and cooperation in the region, realizing the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and enhancing ASEAN's central role; support Malaysia in the position of ASEAN Chair 2025 and AIPA-46, actively coordinate with ASEAN countries to promote inclusive and sustainable growth; integrate and promote Vietnam's priorities and initiatives, especially in cyber security, new energy, digital economy..., linking the goals and development priorities of Vietnam with ASEAN.
This is the first official visit to Malaysia by the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam after the two countries officially upgraded their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (November 2024), thereby promoting increasingly effective and substantial bilateral parliamentary channel cooperation, contributing to creating a legal framework for the two governments and businesses to promote cooperation.
