On September 1, at the National Assembly Headquarters, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeenko - head of the Belarus delegation, to Vietnam to attend the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2 (1945 - 2025).
Expressing his pleasure at meeting again with President Igor Sergeenko after a recent meeting within the framework of the AIPA 45th General Assembly in Laos in October 2024, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man welcomed the delegation of the Belarus House of Representatives led by Mr. Igor Sergeenko to attend the celebration; expressing his appreciation for Belarus's sending of a high-level delegation to attend important events of Vietnam in recent times.
Recalling the great historical significance of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Belarus Igor Sergeenko expressed his honor to visit Vietnam and attend the Ceremony; congratulated Vietnam on the socio-economic development achievements that Vietnam has achieved under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam; expressed appreciation for the affection and warm welcome that the country and people of Vietnam have given to the delegation.
Informing about cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of trade - investment, industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, tourism, etc., Chairman Igor Sergeenko affirmed that the Belarus National Assembly always supports the enhancement of all-faceted cooperation with Vietnam, promotes parliamentary cooperation with Vietnam, and suggested that the National Assemblies of the two countries increase exchanges of experiences in legislative work.
On this occasion, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Belarus Igor Sergeenko respectfully invited Speaker of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man to pay an official visit to Belarus in the near future.
Appreciating the development of Vietnam - Belarus cooperation in various fields, especially the state visit to Belarus by General Secretary To Lam and the two countries establishing a strategic partnership in May 2025, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Speaker of the Belarusese House of Representatives Igor Sergeenko agreed to propose that the two countries' National Assemblies continue to cooperate closely to concretize agreements between the two countries' leaders, as well as the content of the strategic partnership, in the immediate future promoting the completion of the Cooperation Development Roadmap for the period 2025 - 2027.
Strengthen cooperation on the parliamentary channel, focusing on completing the discussion on the draft, moving towards signing a new Cooperation Agreement between the two National Assemblies; promoting the bridging role of the Friendship Parliamentary Group of the two countries in enhancing exchanges, understanding and Association between Vietnamese and Belarusese National Assembly deputies;
Create favorable conditions, institutionalize and supervise the implementation of signed cooperation documents, contributing to deepening relations between the two countries; promote cooperation at multilateral parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).
