On the afternoon of April 18, in Vi Thanh city, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the National Assembly Delegation of Hau Giang province met with voters before the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
Attending the ceremony was Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong.
According to the plan of the 9th Session, the 15th National Assembly will conduct 2 sessions. Round 1 from 5 - 28; Round 2 from 11 - 28 June, a meeting will be held at the National Assembly House.

At this session, the National Assembly will consider and decide to amend and supplement a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution; consider and approve 30 laws and 7 resolutions; give opinions on 6 draft laws; decide on socio-economic issues, state budget, supervision and other important issues, especially through many important contents, especially through the Project to reorganize administrative units and organize local government at 2 levels, which will greatly affect cadres, civil servants and public employees.
At the meeting, voters expressed their concern about practical issues after the merger of administrative units. In addition, voters are also interested in resolving policies for officials to quit their jobs and creating conditions for officials and civil servants to work far away after the merger of provinces.


In addition, voters are also interested in recommendations on administrative reform, smart operating centers, effective technical infrastructure and online public services.

Speaking at the meeting with voters, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man informed that the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly has a very large and heavy workload compared to previous sessions. The National Assembly Standing Committee issued Decision No. 76 dated April 15, 2025 on the arrangement of two-level administrative units, which began 2 days ago.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that according to the plan, the public consultation will take place from June 6 to June 5, 2025. If the people agree, the National Assembly will pass a decision. After June 30, 2025, the district-level activities will officially end.
The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that the district level has completed its tasks well in the revolutionary and development period. Up to now, streamlining the apparatus and eliminating intermediate levels is considered the end of the district-level operation.
Regarding the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units, the National Assembly Chairman said that there is a policy to merge 64 provinces and cities into 34 provinces and cities. If the National Assembly votes to approve, Hau Giang and Soc Trang will become centrally-governed cities.
The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that this is a major, unprecedented revolution, aiming to streamline the apparatus, ensuring effective, efficient and efficient operations. Streamlining the apparatus and payroll will create resources to invest in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security and building a clean and strong political system.
The National Assembly Chairman stated that after the merger, the headquarters will be used for community activities, culture, arts, and sports of the people, and absolutely not to be abandoned.
