According to the National Assembly Office, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man congratulated Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen on successfully completing his term in Vietnam; highly appreciated the Ambassador's role and important contributions to the political, diplomatic, cultural, and social relations between Vietnam and Cuba in recent times.
The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Vietnam always remembers the wholehearted support and assistance that the Party, State and people of Cuba gave Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as in the current cause of national construction and development.
"This is a special relationship with very high political trust, always a model in international relations" - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized.
Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen sincerely thanked National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the Vietnamese National Assembly for always supporting and assisting the country and people of Cuba as well as the Ambassador and staff of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam in fulfilling their duties.
Thanking the National Assembly Chairman for sharing and Vietnam's support for Cuba in recent times, Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen affirmed that although both countries have faced difficulties due to natural disasters and complicated and unpredictable developments in the world situation, the Vietnam - Cuba relationship has been continuously promoted, consolidated and achieved good results.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen emphasized that the two countries have increased high-level visits, especially the state visit to Cuba by General Secretary and President To Lam in September 2024, which became an important milestone in bilateral relations.
In particular, in the overall bilateral relations, the cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National Assembly of the People's Power of Cuba has maintained a good momentum of development, achieving many outstanding results. In particular, the two National Assemblies have established an Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee and held its first meeting in Cuba last September. The President of the National Assembly of the People's Power of Cuba recently visited Vietnam in early November. This has shown the strong connection and special solidarity that transcends all geographical distances between the two countries in general and the two National Assemblies in particular.
Emphasizing the importance of parliamentary cooperation in promoting bilateral relations, Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen sincerely thanked National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for his many contributions and support in promoting relations between the two National Assemblies; at the same time, he hoped that the National Assembly Chairman and the Vietnamese National Assembly would continue to support and cooperate closely in creating a legal corridor for bilateral relations in all fields, promoting local cooperation between the two countries.
At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen also discussed a number of cooperation issues between the two countries and the two National Assemblies; emphasizing that the two countries need to strengthen cooperation in the fields of agriculture and energy.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man believes that with his good feelings and deep memories of the country and people of Vietnam, regardless of his position, Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen will continue to actively contribute to promoting the special friendship, solidarity, and exemplary loyalty between Vietnam and Cuba.
