In the first 2 months of 2026, the city continued to achieve important results, the main economic targets basically closely followed the proposed growth scenario. In particular, GRDP growth in the first quarter strives to reach a high level of 12.5%. Budget revenue and expenditure are drastically managed; production, business, service and tourism activities during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year recover strongly. Cultural and social fields are concerned; national defense - security, social order and safety in the area are maintained, creating a stable environment for people to enjoy a safe and healthy Spring and Tet.
Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau highly appreciated the efforts of all levels and sectors in the first 2 months of the year. However, the Chairman of the City People's Committee also frankly noted that the remaining workload of the first quarter is very large with many high goals, especially the target of disbursing public investment capital must reach 25% of the plan. To successfully complete the set tasks, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested Party committees at all levels, Directors of departments, agencies, and Chairmen of People's Committees of localities to uphold the spirit of responsibility, develop specific implementation plans in the spirit of "6 clarities" which are clear people, clear tasks, clear time, clear responsibilities, clear products and clear authority, in order to thoroughly overcome the situation of waiting for instructions from superiors or shirking responsibility in the performance of official duties.
The city requests units to urgently study and organize the implementation of authorized tasks in the field of land to accelerate the progress of resolving procedures. At the same time, it is necessary to fully implement compensation and resettlement policies; proactively propagate and mobilize people, not to let hot spots of complaints arise, disrupting the progress of projects.
Functional agencies need to focus highly on the preparation for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term, ensuring compliance with regulations and legal progress. The Chairman emphasized that the city's action motto in the coming time is "Say and do, do immediately, do right, do effectively", taking practical effectiveness as the most accurate measure to assess the capacity of officials, determined to bring the city's socio-economy to develop quickly and sustainably right from the first months of the year.
