On the afternoon of November 12, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc met with General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith; held talks with Deputy Prime Minister of Laos Saleumxay Kommasith.
At the meetings, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc respectfully conveyed the greetings of General Secretary To Lam; Politburo members: President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam to General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and senior leaders of Laos; affirmed that the Vietnam - Laos relationship is a very special relationship, comprehensively developing in all fields.
At the meeting with General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc informed some outstanding features of the situation in Vietnam, reporting to comrade Thongloun Sisoulith on the results of talks with Deputy Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith.
The two sides agreed on a number of key contents and a group of major solutions for a number of specific projects. Currently, the two sides are actively reviewing the results of the implementation of the contents of the 47th Session to prepare for the Vietnam - Laos Intergovernmental Committee Session taking place in the coming time.
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc expressed his hope that senior leaders of Laos would continue to pay attention to and direct relevant Lao agencies to pay attention to solving difficulties and problems of some Vietnamese enterprises, continue to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises investing in Laos, especially encourage large Vietnamese corporations to invest and do business, contributing to building and developing the socio-economy of Laos.
General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith highly appreciated the active implementation of tasks by the two Deputy Prime Ministers of Laos and Vietnam; emphasized the assessment and review of the implementation of the High-level Agreement between the two Parties and the two countries, the content of the agreement of the 47th Session of the Lao - Vietnam Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee in the past time is very practical, this is an important step to review and prepare well for the 48th Session of the Lao - Vietnam Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee.
General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith suggested that the two sides continue to promote the achieved results, focusing on promoting integration and connecting the two countries' economies, first of all, connecting transportation, creating favorable conditions for the organization of the implementation of the agreements of senior leaders of the two Parties and two States, especially strategic cooperation projects that will soon come true.
Previously, at the meeting on the same afternoon, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc and Lao Deputy Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith agreed to assess that economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries continues to have strong development with many bright spots; many difficulties and obstacles in key cooperation projects have been effectively coordinated. In addition, cooperation in other areas such as transportation connectivity, education - training, culture, people-to-people exchanges, as well as coordination at regional and international forums have all achieved practical results.
Cooperation between ministries, branches and localities, especially in border areas, has increasingly gone into depth, contributing to further strengthening and enhancing the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
