On April 29, at the Government headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long had a working session with the Ministry of Education and Training on preparations for the 2025 high school graduation exam.
Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong said that the 2025 high school graduation exam will be attended by more than 1.1 million candidates across 63 provinces/cities; at the same time, the exam will be organized according to two general education programs. Accordingly, about 200,000 cadres were mobilized to participate in the competition organization.
Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong emphasized that the "2 reductions" goal is to reduce pressure and reduce costs for society but still ensure the set quality. The nature of this year's exam is especially important, the Ministry of Education and Training will strive to ensure the exam is safe, serious, objective, in accordance with regulations and efficiency.
Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training) Huynh Van Chuong added that the exam supervision work will take place on June 25, 26, and 27, 2025; in which June 25 is the exam registration date, June 26 and 27 are the official exam days, June 28 is the reserve day.
The judging work will be carried out according to the general plan from June 29 to July 14, 2025. The exam results will be announced at 8:00 a.m. on July 16, 2025 at the Ministry of Education and Training and in 63 provinces and cities (Department of Education and Training).
As of 12:00 on April 27, the total number of candidates registered for the exam was 1,153,901 (an increase of nearly 82,540 candidates compared to 2024).
At the meeting, a representative of the Ministry of Public Security said that the district-level police in previous years participating in supporting the security and safety of exams in localities have now been transferred to the provincial and commune levels.
In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long said that there is still a lot of work to do in the near future, absolutely do not be subjective.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the exam was held at the "interview" time of the organization of the apparatus, arranging administrative units such as not organizing district level, merging provinces and communes, arranging the system of inspection agencies ...
These are levels and agencies with important tasks and responsibilities in organizing the annual graduation exam. This year, the number of candidates is higher. Fraud technology is increasingly sophisticated.
"The requirement we have is to organize the exam successfully, safely, achieve the set goals, and avoid incidents," the Deputy Prime Minister stated and said that just a little insecurity will have unpredictable consequences.
It is necessary to closely follow the situation of arranging and organizing the apparatus, and have the assignment of tasks, not general things.
"We must clearly state who works, I have asked before, the district-level health center sends health workers, now if it is reorganized, who will send them? The police in front of the exam locations, where the exam questions are printed are directed by the district police, now who will direct them...", the Deputy Prime Minister said and raised the issue.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that we must not be subjective about the issue of cadre psychology when the apparatus is streamlined, it is necessary to enhance the responsibility of each individual and clearly define work. It is necessary to emphasize the responsibility of local Party committees, authorities, and even Secretaries, not just Chairmen.
Government leaders proposed to continue updating and perfecting to issue a new electricity of the Prime Minister. The Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training also needs to send a written request to the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the provinces and cities to propose closely direct the organization of high school graduation exams.
The Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Health need to have a separate plan on organizing the high school graduation exam. In all cases, it is necessary to ensure consistency and smoothness from the central to local levels.
