The National Assembly Chairwoman requested press agencies to promote digital transformation, apply artificial intelligence, and maintain information sovereignty in cyberspace.

The press reflects issues very comprehensively

This afternoon (June 14), at the National Assembly House, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with leaders of press agencies and full-time reporters of Party and State leaders, on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2026).

Speaking at the meeting, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated clearly that the spirit of leadership, direction, and implementation of the National Assembly and the Government in the past time has clearly shown the viewpoint as requested by the General Secretary and President, which is to innovate thinking and action - saying is doing, doing immediately, doing right, doing effectively, doing to the end.

Especially innovating thinking in law-making: The law only stipulates issues under the authority of the National Assembly. Creating favorable conditions and delegating proactive and flexible power to the Government in the process of organization and implementation.

With the very high sense of responsibility of the National Assembly, Government and relevant agencies; over the past time, the National Assembly has passed a very large volume of laws and resolutions. In particular, the 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th regular sessions, the 15th extraordinary session of the National Assembly and the 1st session, the 16th National Assembly, have passed 127 laws and 36 legal normative resolutions.

According to the National Assembly Chairwoman, achieving that result is thanks to the active contribution of press agencies, which is reflected in basic aspects such as the press has closely followed the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, strongly and vividly propagated important guidelines, policies, and strategies of the Party and State; reflected very comprehensively on issues, especially news and articles about the revolution of rearranging cadre organizations, administrative units and determination to achieve the goal of growth.

The press takes the lead in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against wrong and hostile views; improving the quantity and quality of official information, building a healthy, humane and responsible media environment.

Press agencies have innovated their thinking and ways of doing things to keep up with the volatile and challenging media environment in the context of merging and streamlining the apparatus.

Press agencies have continued to invest in digital technology, apply, exploit and contribute to the national digital data platform; develop modern editorial models, a team of multi-skilled journalists to have sufficient competitiveness and development in the digital media environment.

Fight to eliminate the wrong, the bad, protect the right, spread good people and good deeds

In the coming time, the National Assembly Chairwoman noted and requested agencies to better implement some key contents as follows:

The press propagates more widely, especially the messages of General Secretary and President To Lam recently on national development in the new era are also major policies of our Party, especially the 10 key and strategic Resolutions of the Politburo.

The press continues to closely follow and fully and promptly reflect the activities of the National Assembly and the Government; promptly convey the thoughts and aspirations of voters and people to the National Assembly and the Government, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the activities of the National Assembly and the Government.

Journalists and reporters are always soldiers on the ideological and cultural front; fighting to eliminate the wrong and the bad, protecting the right, spreading good people and good deeds; continuing to improve the quality of the team in terms of political bravery, sense of responsibility, professional qualifications, and professional ethics.

Press agencies need to promote digital transformation, apply artificial intelligence, build professional, humane, and modern press agencies, maintain information sovereignty in cyberspace, and promote the development of the digital content industry.

The National Assembly Chairwoman requested agencies to fully implement the Law on Press No. 126 of the National Assembly, effective from July 1, 2026; this is an important legal corridor, creating conditions for the press to develop and operate more effectively, ensuring compliance with the specific characteristics of each type of press and the development trend of the modern press economy.

The National Assembly Chairwoman expressed her belief that, with the glorious tradition of 101 years of construction and growth, along with the rich experiences accumulated, the team of journalists will fulfill their noble mission, forever maintaining "a bright heart, a pure heart, a sharp pen" as beloved President Ho Chi Minh once advised.
