On the afternoon of May 14, Hai Phong City Police were honored to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces awarded by the President.

Through more than 80 years of construction, combat and growth, the Hai Phong City Police and the former Hai Duong Provincial Police have continuously grown stronger, making great feats and achievements in the cause of protecting security and order, making worthy contributions to the cause of fighting for national independence and reunification.
At the conference, representatives of the Political Work Department - Ministry of Public Security read the President's decision on awarding the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to Hai Phong City Police for their particularly outstanding achievements in maintaining political security, social order and safety from 2015 - 2025, contributing to the cause of building socialism and protecting the Fatherland.
Speaking at the Conference, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, on behalf of Party and State leaders, praised, congratulated and highly appreciated the feats of arms and outstanding achievements of Hai Phong City Police throughout the journey of construction, combat and growth.
The Prime Minister assessed that Hai Phong City is a land of outstanding people, converging the spirit of the heroic port city and the depth of civilization of the Eastern region. In the history of struggle for independence, freedom, construction and defense of the Fatherland, Hai Phong has always held a particularly important strategic position in politics, economy, defense, security, and foreign affairs.
Over the past 80 years, generations of officers and soldiers of Hai Phong City Police have always been absolutely loyal, united, resourceful, brave, and dedicated to serving the Fatherland and serving the people; worthy of the glorious tradition of the Heroic Vietnamese People's Police Force.
The title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces that Hai Phong City Police is honored to receive today is not only the pride of the City Police force alone; but also a great honor of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Hai Phong City. This is the crystallization of loyalty, intelligence, bravery and silent sacrifices of generations of officers and soldiers of the City Police" - Prime Minister Le Minh Hung said.
According to the Prime Minister, Hai Phong City is a strategic area, with rapid urbanization and industrialization, high international integration; with many key traffic routes, highly focused on economic and trade activities, requiring accurate forecasting, timely advice, strict management, and effective handling. Maintaining security is not only maintaining peace for life, but also ensuring safety for a strategic gateway, keeping the pace of development for the region and the whole country.
To make Hai Phong worthy of its new position, increasingly contributing more to the development of the region and the whole country, the Prime Minister requested Hai Phong City Police to well implement a number of key tasks: Concretizing the guidelines and viewpoints of the Party and State, the direction of the Ministry of Public Security on protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety; Thoroughly grasping the viewpoint of taking political stability and social order and safety as the foundation; taking serving development and people as the highest goals.
