Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has just signed and issued Resolution No. 1681/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Son La province in 2025.
Based on Project No. 346/DA-CP of the Government on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Son La province in 2025, the National Assembly Standing Committee decided to arrange to establish commune-level administrative units of Son La province.
After the arrangement, Son La province has the following wards: To Hieu, Chieng An, Chieng Coi, Chieng Sinh, Moc Chau, Moc Son, Van Son, Thao Nguyen.
The communes include: Doan Ket, Long Sap, Chieng Son, Van Ho, Song Khua, To Mua, Xuan Nha, Quynh Nhai, Muong Chien, Muong Gion, Muong Sai, Thuan Chau, Chieng La, Nam Lau, Muoi Noi, Muong Khieng, Co Ma, Binh Thuan, Muong E, Long He, Muong La, Chieng Lao, Muong Bu, Chieng Hoa, Bac Yen, Ta Xua, Ta Khoa, Xin Vang, Pac Nga, Chieng Sai, Phu Yen, Gia Phu, Tuong Ha;
Muong Coi, Muong Bang, Tan Phong, Kim Bon, Yen Chau, Chieng Hac, Long Phieng, Yen Son, Chieng Mai, Mai Son, Phieng Pan, Chieng Mung, Phieng Cam, Muong Chanh, Ta Hoc, Chieng Sung, Bo Sinh, Chieng Khuong, Muong Hung, Chieng Khoong, Muong Lam, Nam Ty, Song Ma, Huoi Mot, Chieng So, Sop Cop, Pung Banh.
After the arrangement, Son La province has 75 commune-level administrative units, including 67 communes and 8 wards; including 60 communes, 8 wards formed after the arrangement and 7 communes that do not implement the arrangement are Muong Lan, Phieng Khoai, Suoi To, Ngoc Chien, Tan Yen, Muong Bam, Muong Lieu communes.
This Resolution takes effect from the date of approval (June 16).
The competent authorities urgently carry out necessary preparations to ensure that local authorities in commune-level administrative units formed after the arrangement prescribed in Article 1 of this Resolution officially operate from July 1, 2025.
Local authorities in commune-level administrative units before the reorganization will continue to operate until the local government in commune-level administrative units is formed after the reorganization and officially operates.
The Government, the People's Council, the People's Committee of Son La province, local authorities, administrative units related to the implementation of the arrangement and other relevant agencies and organizations are responsible for organizing the implementation of this Resolution.
Arrange and stabilize the apparatus of local agencies and organizations; stabilize the lives of local people, ensure the requirements of socio-economic development, national defense and security in the area.
Assign the Government, based on this Resolution and Project No. 346/DA-CP of the Government, to organize the accurate determination of the natural area of commune-level administrative units and publicly announce it before September 30, 2025.
At the same time, urgently deploy the work of measuring and determining the boundary scope of administrative units on the field to prepare documents on the boundary of administrative units according to regulations.
