On April 10, the Office of the People's Committee of Son La province informed that the Provincial People's Committee has just approved the plan to select a contractor for the Provincial Road 107C project, from Chieng Khay commune, Quynh Nhai district to Nam So commune, Tan Uyen district, Lai Chau province.
This route plays an important role in connecting inter-regional traffic between the two Northwestern provinces, contributing to promoting economic and social development, ensuring security and defense.
The project includes 9 packages, of which the largest package is the construction and installation of a section of the 8.9km long route, worth more than 48.7 billion VND, and will be widely bid nationwide online, with a implementation period of 900 days.
In addition, other packages including: survey, design, construction supervision, bomb and mine clearance, construction insurance... will also be organized for bidding or appointed in accordance with the provisions of the 2023 Bidding Law.
The investor (Quynh Nhai District People's Committee) is responsible for organizing the selection of contractors to ensure competition, transparency, and compliance with regulations, while reviewing the estimates, unit prices, and volume of bidding packages to avoid budget loss and waste.
It is expected that the bidding will start from the second quarter of 2025.
After completion, the project will solve the needs of travel and freight transportation between Son La and Lai Chau provinces, especially in the context of many highland roads that are still degraded, posing a potential risk to traffic safety.
