On April 10, 2025, Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet signed a Decision to establish a Steering Committee of the Provincial People's Committee on science, technology development, innovation, digital transformation and implementation of Project 06. Accordingly, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee plays the role of Head of the Steering Committee, directly directing this important work.
The Steering Committee is responsible for advising, implementing and supervising the implementation of the province's programs and plans in the fields of science - technology, innovation, digital transformation and administrative reform. At the same time, effectively implement Project 06 - a key project of the Government on developing applications for population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation.
The Steering Committee members include leaders of departments, branches, localities and relevant authorities. The Department of Science and Technology is assigned as the joint standing agency; the Provincial Police and the Department of Home Affairs are the standing agencies in all specialized fields.
This decision also replaces previous decisions related to the Steering Committees for administrative reform and digital transformation at the provincial level, unifying into a single unit for continuous management and direction.
Project 06 aims to promote administrative procedure reform, provide online public services, and contribute to building a digital government, digital economy and digital society. The focus of the project is to effectively exploit the National Population Database to serve state management and serve people and businesses.
