At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Head of the Organizing Committee of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee announced the decision of the Standing Committee of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee on the establishment of Thanh Hoa City Party Committee, on the basis of merging Dong Son District Party Committee into Thanh Hoa City Party Committee. Thanh Hoa City Party Committee has 142 subordinate grassroots party organizations, with 31,100 party members.
Proceed to announce the decision of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on appointing the Executive Committee of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 62 members; Decision on appointing the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 14 members; Decision on appointing Mr. Le Anh Xuan - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to hold the position of Secretary of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; Decision on appointing Mr. Le Trong Thu, Le Anh Tuan, and Le Thanh Hai to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
At the conference, representatives of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee presented the decision of the Standing Committee of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee on the establishment of Thanh Hoa City Party Committee and presented flowers to congratulate Thanh Hoa City Party Committee.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Doan Anh - Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee emphasized that the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels is a major policy of the Party and State to streamline the apparatus for effective, efficient and effective operations; at the same time, expanding development space, promoting the potential and advantages of localities.
On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Doan Anh congratulated the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee and the comrades who were trusted by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to be appointed to the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the leadership positions of the City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
According to Resolution No. 1238/NQ-BTVQH15 dated October 24, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Thanh Hoa province in the period of 2023-2025, the entire natural area of 82.87 km2, with a population of 101,272 people of Dong Son district, will be merged into Thanh Hoa city.
Along with that, 4 wards of Thanh Hoa city were established: Rung Thong ward, Dong Thinh ward, Hoang Quang ward, Hoang Dai ward; Tan Son ward was merged into Phu Son ward. After the arrangement, Thanh Hoa city will have 47 commune-level administrative units (including 33 wards and 14 communes).
