Citizens of 12 countries are exempt from Vietnamese entry visas

The Government has exempted Vietnamese entry visas for citizens of 12 countries with a temporary residence period of 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type.

The Government has just issued Resolution No. 44/NQ-CP dated March 7, 2025 on visa exemption for citizens of the following countries: Federal Republic of Germany, French Republic, Republic of Italy, Kingdom of Spain, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Federation of Russia, Japan, South Korea, Kingdom of Denmark, Kingdom of Sweden, Kingdom of Norway and Republic of Finland.

The Resolution clearly states that visa exemption is for citizens of the following countries: Federal Republic of Germany, French Republic, Republic of Italy, Kingdom of Spain, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Federation of Russia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Kingdom of Denmark, Kingdom of Sweden, Kingdom of Norway and Republic of Finland with a temporary stay of 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport classification or purpose of entry, on the basis of fully meeting the entry conditions as prescribed by Vietnamese law.

The visa exemption policy when entering Vietnam for citizens of the above countries is implemented from March 15, 2025 to March 14, 2028, and will be considered for extension according to the provisions of Vietnamese law.

Resolution No. 32/NQ-CP dated March 15, 2022 and Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP dated August 14, 2023 of the Government will expire from March 15, 2025.
