On the afternoon of March 31, in Hanoi, the National Election Council organized a national conference to summarize the election of National Assembly deputies (NA deputies) of the 16th term and People's Council deputies (PE deputies) at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

Speaking at the opening, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that after a process of elaborate, careful, proactive, and creative preparation; the involvement of the entire political system, the support, joint efforts, and consensus of compatriots and voters nationwide, the election was very successful, truly a widespread political activity, a great festival of the whole people, highly appreciated by public opinion at home and abroad.
According to the National Assembly Chairwoman, this is an important milestone in the development process of our country, promoting the completion of a true socialist rule-of-law state of the People, by the People and for the People; continuing to innovate the organizational structure, operate the two-level local government model; strongly applying information technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence to all aspects of social life.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that today's Conference will listen to representatives of the National Election Council presenting a summary report on election work, comprehensively assessing the achieved results, limitations and inadequacies in leadership, direction, and coordination in organizing the election, clarifying the causes of success, and the causes of shortcomings and limitations.
According to the National Assembly Chairwoman, from the above issues, draw lessons learned and make specific proposals and recommendations to relevant organizations, to better implement election work in subsequent terms.
In particular, according to the National Assembly Chairwoman, the Conference will also hear the important directing speech of General Secretary To Lam.
Those will be the strategic assessments and orientations of Party and State leaders for election work and activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils in the coming time" - said the National Assembly Chairwoman.
