Disciplined 23 officials under central management

The Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Inspection Commission have disciplined 23 officials under the management of the Central Government; of which 6 cases were criminally prosecuted.

On December 25, in Hanoi, the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity (TNLPTC) held its 29th session to discuss and give opinions on the results of activities in 2025 and the 2026 Work Program of the Steering Committee.

At the meeting, through discussion, the Steering Committee agreed on a number of contents. In particular, the work of building and perfecting institutions has been focused on, both serving strategic tasks, arranging the organization of the apparatus and administrative units at all levels, creating new development space for the country, and overcoming loopholes and inadequacies, improving the effectiveness of TNLPTC prevention.

The work of detecting and handling TNLPTC continues to be promoted; the authorities have focused on inspecting, examining, investigating, and thoroughly handling complex serious TNLPTC cases and incidents, of public concern.

Especially cases and incidents that greatly affect the healthy development of the economy and the health of the people, public opinion is upset; cases and incidents with collusion and connection between degraded and disrupted cadres and businesses and organizations for profit, even with defendants, subjects of corporate shadow crimes and cases and incidents related to Party Congress personnel at all levels.

Since the beginning of the year, Party committees and inspection committees at all levels have disciplined more than 330 Party organizations and 9,600 Party members. The Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Inspection Commission have disciplined 23 officials under the management of the Central Government; of which 6 cases were criminally prosecuted.

Through inspection and auditing, it has been recommended to recover and handle 75,132 billion VND and 633 hectares of land financially; recommended to handle 928 collectives and 3,058 individuals administratively.

The prosecution agencies nationwide have prosecuted 3,325 new cases/8,516 defendants for corruption, economic crimes, and positions, including 585 cases 1,585 defendants for corruption crimes.

In particular, the cases and incidents under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee have been prosecuted in 6 new cases/104 defendants from 4 cases; prosecuted 172 defendants in 16 cases; concluded the investigation of 14 cases/323 defendants; prosecuted 14 cases/251 defendants; tried 10 cases/167 defendants at first instance; tried 14 cases/253 defendants on appeal; in which, the investigation, prosecution and completion of the first instance trial of a number of key cases according to the plan of the Steering Committee.

Asset recovery continues to have positive changes. During the year, the prosecution agencies temporarily detained, seized, frozen, and seized assets worth over VND 1,270 billion and many other valuable assets. In particular, in cases under the direction of the Steering Committee for monitoring and direction, during the civil judgment enforcement period, nearly VND 22,500 billion (reaching 55%), bringing the total amount of money recovered since the establishment of the Steering Committee to VND 119,830 billion.
