On the afternoon of April 9, the People's Committee of Da Nang City coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to organize the ASEAN Meeting 2025. The event was attended by 10 ASEAN countries and partners. This conference focused on discussion sessions to strengthen international, trade, investment and tourism cooperation between Da Nang and ASEAN countries.
In addition, the program also includes bilateral contacts between the city's leaders with the Ambassadors of Malaysia, Thailand, the Provisional Advisory Committee of Myanmar and ASEAN businesses, the Da Nang - ASEAN Foreign Photo Exhibition and the introduction of OCOP products, tourism products, art exchanges of ASEAN countries and field visits at prominent locations such as Ba Na Hills, Tien Sa Port, Lien Chieu Port and High-Tech Park.
At the conference, Mr. Do Viet Hung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, said: "With a population of nearly 700 million people and a GDP of nearly 4,000 billion USD, ASEAN is a market with great potential. With positive growth momentum, ASEAN is currently the 5th largest economy in the world and is forecast to rise to 4th by 2030. Thanks to free trade agreements, supply chain linkage initiatives and innovation promotion, ASEAN not only creates a favorable environment for businesses but also brings job opportunities and improves people's lives".
According to Deputy Minister Do Viet Hung, the success of ASEAN comes from solidarity, cooperation and unity in the diversity of ASEAN member countries. Vietnam made efforts with its member countries in ASEAN roof to build a united, strong and resilient ASEAN community. And the visit of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam at the ASEAN headquarters and the ASEAN Secretariat, in March, it affirmed the respect and contribution of Vietnam's best to the development of ASEAN.

In particular, at the conference, the People's Committee of Da Nang City also presented 10,000 USD to support Myanmar in overcoming the consequences of the recent earthquake. At the same time, the Da Nang Tourism Association also supported Myanmar with an amount of 75 million VND.
