In March 1975, after the victory over the Central Highlands and Tri Thien - Hue, the final military base of the 1st Corps - Military Region 1 was effectively isolated. With the spirit of "precision, boldness, timeliness", the talented direction of the Politburo and the strong will of our army and people, the Da Nang liberation campaign took place rapidly, completed in more than 3 days.
From a city bearing the wounds of war, Da Nang has grown to a modern, spacious urban area. Nearly 30 years after separation, synchronous infrastructure, social security policies, and a pioneering environment have made Da Nang a "livable city".
Leading in tourism stimulus
Possessing a beautiful coastline and many famous landmarks such as Ngu Hanh Son, Ba Na Hills, Son Tra peninsula, Da Nang, tourism is soon identified as a spearhead economic sector.
At the 2025 tourism stimulus program, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh - Director of the National Administration of Tourism - highly appreciated Da Nang's pioneering role in developing quality products, applying technology, and taking the lead in visa exemption policies. He proposed that the city continue to innovate and promote, focusing on the high- spending customer segment and types such as beach resorts, MICE, golf, cuisine, etc.

Thanks to his outstanding contributions, on March 21, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong signed Decision No. 367/QD-CTN to award the First Class Labor Medal to the Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang City for outstanding achievements in digital transformation, tourism development, and social security.
Towards a prosperous future
In order to maintain growth momentum and affirm its international position, Da Nang is focusing on developing two key projects: Free Trade Zone and Regional Financial Center. The Free Trade Zone with an area of 2,317 hectares, including the sea encroachment area, is a new economic model with a special incentive mechanism, attracting investment in high-quality production, logistics, trade and services. After being designed properly, connecting Lien Chieu port and international airports, this area promises to create an open and effective business environment.
It is expected that by 2030, this area will contribute 8-9% of GRDP and reach 25% by 2050, creating hundreds of thousands of jobs and attracting high-quality human resources.
The Regional Financial Center is a strategic project, aiming to build a modern center with a unique and outstanding management mechanism, focusing on finance for startups, innovation, green finance and business support.
Da Nang is actively coordinating with the Government and ministries to complete the legal framework, train human resources and attract investment for this project.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Le Trung Chinh said that the city has reserved more than 6 hectares of clean land on Vo Van Kiet Street, near My Khe beach, to build a Financial Center. The 9.7ha land adjacent to Software Park No. 2 is also planned to develop priority industries such as Fintech, finance and innovation services.
In addition to key projects, Da Nang is implementing a series of large-scale projects with a total investment of hundreds of thousands of billions of VND, focusing on infrastructure, tourism and information technology such as: Lang Van, Asia Park Complex, projects of FPT, Viettel and many high-end resorts. These projects are contributing to changing the face of urban areas, creating jobs and promoting economic growth.
Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation Day and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Party Committee, Da Nang organized a series of activities, with an official ceremony taking place on the morning of March 29 at Tien Son Sports Palace. With the aspiration to reach international standards, Da Nang is gradually building a world-class livable city.
