Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam signed Decision No. 1766/QD-UBND approving the Da Nang City Urban Transport Specialization Planning Project to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
The scope of the study is the entire administrative boundary of Da Nang city including: 6 districts (Hai Chau, Thanh Khe, Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, Lien Chieu, Cam Le) and 02 districts (Hoa Vang, Hoang Sa). The total area is about 129,046 hectares, of which the mainland area is about 98,546 hectares, the area of Hoang Sa island district is 30,500 hectares.
The scope of indirect research includes areas neighboring Da Nang city including: Quang Nam province, Thua Thien - Hue province, provinces in the North Central and Central Coast regions.
The subjects of the planning study include: Road transport infrastructure ( external and internal), railway, waterway, sea route, airline, static traffic and public transport system within the planning scope.
The planning period is until 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Orientation for developing connectivity to urban areas to strengthen connectivity with subdivisions in the hillside area: Planning to connect the area through the Western Ring Road 1 (Ring Road 1) from the High-Tech Industrial Park to Ngu Hanh Son District to create a continuous traffic axis connecting the East-West of the city; connecting the Western Ring Road to the South bypass of Hai Van tunnel, extending the Western Ring Road 2 (Ring Road 2) to Quang Nam province.
Connecting Hai Chau and Son Tra areas through an underpass across the Han River at Dong Da Street; seamlessly connecting the North-South axis from the center to Nguyen Tat Thanh Street via the extended Hoang Hoa Tham Street;
Planning to connect existing urban main roads to ensure internal traffic, traffic safety and reduce the load on main roads.
The underground route is planned to pass through the airport area to connect the eastern area with the western development area, along with the development of the public transport system.
Planning urban railway lines or equivalent methods that act as main axes of public transport, connecting urban subdivisions with each other and with the city center.
