This is an important step in the roadmap to implement the plan to merge Quang Nam province and Da Nang city to establish the new Da Nang city under the Central Government.
The experimental operation will be applied synchronously to the entire political system in the new units, from the Party Committee, the Government, the Fatherland Front to socio-political organizations. On the same day, the city plans to announce the personnel list of 15 new communes, wards and Hoang Sa special zone. This list has been approved by the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, ensuring stability and readiness for the new administrative apparatus.
After the arrangement, 15 new communes and wards include: Hai Chau, Hoa Cuong, Thanh Khe, An Khe, An Hai, Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, Hoa Khanh, Hai Van, Lien Chieu, Cam Le, Hoa Xuan, Hoa Vang, Hoa Tien, Ba Na.
This is part of a major project on merger, expected to create a new Da Nang city with an area of nearly 11,870 km2, a population of more than 3 million people and 94 commune-level administrative units. Previously, during the working session with the Politburo's working delegation, Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang proposed that the Central Government allow the effective time of the new commune and ward authorities to be synchronized with the provincial level to ensure the transition process takes place most smoothly.
Currently, Da Nang and Quang Nam have agreed on a high-level personnel plan for the new city, with the Party Executive Committee consisting of 75 people and the Standing Committee consisting of 23 people. The trial operation on June 21 is considered a necessary test, creating a solid foundation for the birth and development of a large socio-economic center in the future.
