At the 21st session of the People's Council (PC), term X, term 2021 - 2026 on the morning of December 12, Mr. Huynh Ba Cu, a delegation of Son Tra district and Hoang Sa district (Da Nang city) said that Da Nang city currently has 2,798 residential groups and 113 villages. The size of residential groups under 80 households has 1,603 groups, accounting for 57.3%. From 80-150 households, there are 1,010 groups, accounting for 36.1%, from 150 - under 300 groups, there are 162 groups, accounting for 5.8% and from 300 households or more, there are 23 groups, accounting for 0.8%. There are 36 villages with less than 250 households, accounting for 31.9%, 16 villages with 250 - less than 300 households, accounting for 14.1%, 61 villages with 300 households or more, accounting for 54%. The number of heads of residential groups and village heads who are Party members is 1,054/2,911 people, accounting for 36.2%.
"To continue to effectively consolidate the activities of residential groups and villages in the current situation, with the motto of "firmly grasping the situation, managing the area well, receiving information quickly, handling arising situations promptly, on the basis of digital transformation, especially implementing the arrangement, consolidation, and streamlining of the apparatus according to the Party and State's policies", striving to have 90% of residential group leaders and village leaders being Party members by 2025. Therefore, Da Nang City has a policy of arranging and consolidating this force", Mr. Huynh Ba Cu suggested.
Regarding this issue, Mr. Nguyen Huu Loi, Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang City affirmed: "There are about 2,775 residential groups with less than 300 households. According to the circular of the Ministry of Home Affairs, residential groups require 300 households or more. Therefore, in the near future, the Department of Home Affairs will propose to arrange residential groups with less than 300 households. The arrangement roadmap is expected to be submitted to the People's Council of Da Nang City at the latest in the mid-2025 meeting."
Regarding the activities of the newly established wards, Mr. Ngo Xuan Thang, Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City, informed that the locality has plans and personnel arrangements to ensure smooth operations of ward-level government without affecting the activities of organizations, individuals, people and businesses. The implementation process must pay attention to the issue of management and use of related public assets when wards merge.
