On September 18, the Da Nang City Party Committee held a press conference to inform about the results of the 1st Congress of the City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030.
The press conference was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Vinh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy Dung - Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department.
The 1st Da Nang City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, took place from September 16 to 18 at the city Political School hall.
Here, the Politburo and the Secretariat appointed the City Party Executive Committee consisting of 75 members, including 16 commune and ward secretaries; at the same time, the City Party Committee Standing Committee was appointed with 23 members, notably with the first participation of the ward-level representative - Tam Ky Ward Secretary.
Regarding key personnel, the Central Government appointed Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet to hold the position of Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, term I, 2025 - 2030, along with 4 Deputy Secretaries.
Before the Congress, the plan is that the City Party Committee's Board of Directors will have 6 people (including 1 Secretary and 5 Deputy Secretaries). However, the Congress only announced the Secretary and 4 Deputy Secretaries.
The representative of the Organizing Committee of the City Party Committee said that the number of missing personnel for the City Party Committee leadership will be considered by the Politburo and the Secretariat after completing the personnel for the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City at the upcoming Front Congress.
"The policy is to have 6 personnel to lead the City Party Committee, but for now, only 5 have been appointed. The remaining location will be considered and decided in the coming time," said a representative of the City Party Committee's Organization Board.
In addition to personnel work, at the press conference, the city leaders also informed a number of additional contents: such as the situation of some coastal hotels discharging waste causing pollution, the Department of Agriculture and Environment said it would strengthen supervision, strictly punish and publicize the list of violations. The city is also accelerating the completion of flood prevention systems, especially in the airport area, Thanh Khe, Phu Loc bridge.
In the field of education - society, Da Nang invested in building 6 boarding schools in 6 western border communes bordering Laos, with a total cost of about 740 billion VND, expected to be put into use in September 2026, to narrow the gap between mountainous and plain areas.
Da Nang orients the development of small industrial clusters associated with mountain medicinal processing, promotes local economy and creates jobs for people in mountainous areas. The city encourages the policy of connecting communes and wards in mountainous and plain areas, aiming at effective exchange and support, avoiding formality, contributing to even and sustainable development.
