The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (Party's 14th Congress) is considered a historical event, marking a turning point in the country's development process as well as in the upward trajectory of the renovation process.
Cuban battlefield journalist Luis Manuel Arce Isaac believes that this is the time to identify the goals and development orientations of the country in the new period, especially in the context of the complex international situation.
According to Mr. Luis Manuel Arce Isaac, the theme of the political report of the 14th Party Congress has shown the stature of the event, because it is not only a slogan, but also a decision with strong inspiration, reminiscent of President Ho Chi Minh's patriotism and goals: "Under the glorious flag of the Party, joining hands, unite to successfully implement the goals of national development to 2030; strategic autonomy, self-reliance, confidence, and strong progress in the era of national rise for peace, independence, democracy, prosperity, prosperity, civilization, happiness, steadily advancing towards socialism".
The Cuban journalist said that above all, the spirit of the Congress reaffirmed the determination to continue to comprehensively promote the revolution that was initiated 96 years ago, continuing in the arduous struggle for independence and national reunification and being completed in the next 40 years of renovation.
He believes that by the historical time of 2026, in the context of many changes in domestic and international conditions, all obstacles on the path to development have been overcome with great efforts, with the belief that achievements towards people's happiness are present and the future ahead has many good prospects.
The success of the Congress, according to him, is the realization of the development vision to 2045, towards the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (1945-2045).
Mr. Luis Manuel Arce Isaac expressed his appreciation for witnessing this important milestone of Vietnam. He emphasized that despite many changes in the era, generations of Vietnamese leaders still maintained the basic principles of the Party and inherited the ideological heritage of comrades Pham Van Dong, Vo Nguyen Giap, and revolutionaries who accompanied President Ho Chi Minh from the early days.
The Cuban journalist also believes that the previous generation, which experienced difficult periods, especially in the 1960s and 1970s, can be proud of the maturity of the new generation of leaders. That maturity is clearly shown in the Documents submitted to the Congress, including the Political Report, documents that closely reflect the reality of the times.
According to Mr. Luis Manuel Arce Isaac's assessment, the outstanding achievements of the 13th Party Congress term as well as the 40th anniversary of Doi Moi are clear proof of Vietnam's correct development path.
Official figures show that average economic growth in the period 2021-2025 reached 6.3% per year, putting Vietnam in the group of fast-growing economies in the region and in the world; defense and security were strengthened; foreign relations and international integration reached a new height; Party building and rectification and administrative apparatus reform have made significant progress.
The Cuban journalist expressed his belief that the Action Program to implement the 14th Party Congress Resolution will continue to promote and improve the achieved results, through clearly defining strategic steps and key tasks discussed at the Congress.
According to him, the discussions at the Congress will create a solid foundation to bring Vietnam into a new era of development and prosperity, continuing to affirm the position of a country that has risen to the group of high-middle-income countries in a very short time and achieved many outstanding achievements in human development index.
Concluding, Mr. Luis Manuel Arce Isaac affirmed that Vietnamese history is not only inspired by socio-economic achievements, but also by the spirit of altruism and construction in the development process, especially the determination to ensure growth, effectively implement policies, put people at the center and firmly consolidate institutions.
