Thu Lum is the most remote border commune of Lai Chau province. Looking towards the 14th Party Congress, the Party Committee and people in the commune determined that this is both an honor and a great political motivation for the whole commune to promote patriotic emulation movements, labor production emulation, building and firmly protecting national border sovereignty.
Secretary of Thu Lum Commune Party Committee Nguyen Truong Giang said that the Commune Party Committee focuses on promoting propaganda and thoroughly grasping among the people about the meaning and importance of the 14th Party Congress; linking emulation movements with specific and practical actions. Specifically, the commune mobilizes people to actively convert crop and livestock structures; develop household economy, forest economy associated with protecting the ecological environment; well implement movements such as "All people unite to build a cultural life", "Join hands for the poor", "All people participate in protecting national security.
Especially, as a border area, the Commune Party Committee focuses on promoting the role of the people in managing and protecting border lines and markers; building a solid all-people border defense posture, considering each citizen as a "lifeline milestone" at the front lines of the Fatherland.
Similarly, in Phong Tho border commune, in the past time, the locality has concretized emulation movements to celebrate the 14th Party Congress with practical actions.
According to Chairman of the Commune People's Committee Le Huu Hong, people in the area enthusiastically compete in production, exploiting the potential and advantages of agricultural, forestry and fishery development. Thanks to that, the locality achieved many positive results in 2025 such as: organizing the sowing and planting of seed-based food crops estimated at nearly 1,753ha; total seed-based food output reached more than 8,000 tons. Currently, the commune has 3 farming facilities reaching farm scale, 8 livestock and aquaculture products certified OCOP 3 stars.
And in the mountainous commune of Khun Ha, cleaner roads, more spacious villages, tea fields, and green ginseng gardens are becoming vivid examples of the practical emulation movement of the locality towards the 14th Party Congress.
These days, on the walkways around Lao Chai 1 community tourist village, Khun Ha commune, Mong people use brooms and hoes, together cleaning up, renovating fences, sweeping the yard, and hanging the national flag in front of the porch. Each road is cleaner, each house is neater not only to welcome tourists, but also as a way for people to practically emulation, towards the 14th Party Congress.
Mr. Cu A Ly, a homestay household in Lao Chai 1 village, shared: "I and the villagers want to build a more beautiful image of the village, so that domestic and foreign tourists know about it, so that the village can welcome more and more guests.
Community tourism is becoming a bright spot in the emulation movement of Khun Ha commune. The traditional stilt houses and terraced houses of the Lu and Mong people nestled on the mountainside, along with unique festivals and customs, have attracted a large number of tourists to visit and experience. Many households proactively renovate their houses, preserve traditional living spaces, considering this both a livelihood and a responsibility to preserve national cultural identity.
Vice Chairman of Khun Ha Commune People's Committee Do Trong Thi said that on the occasion of celebrating the 14th Party Congress, the commune propagated and mobilized people to renovate villages, build tourism products, and create QR codes to welcome tourists.
From green tea fields, ginseng gardens under forest canopies, to clean and beautiful villages, rich in identity, Khun Ha is transforming every day. Creating a solid foundation for long-term development
Sending full faith and great expectations for the leadership of the Party, Secretary of Thu Lum Commune Party Committee Nguyen Truong Giang said that the Party Committee and people of the commune hope to continue to receive deeper attention from the Party, State and province for border areas and ethnic minority areas.
Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang expects that the Party and State will have more appropriate and long-term mechanisms and policies to invest in developing essential infrastructure; support sustainable livelihoods; improve the quality of education and health; vocational training, create jobs for people in border areas. At the same time, people hope that the Party and State will continue to pay attention to caring for the material and spiritual life of the people, especially families directly participating in border protection, so that people can truly feel secure in sticking to the land, sticking to the village, and long-term attachment to the border region of the Fatherland.
Wishing the Party and State to continue to pay attention to synchronous investment in education in mountainous areas, teacher Le Duy Khanh, Vice Principal of Lan Nhi Thang Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary School (Doan Ket ward) expects that after the 14th Party Congress, the State will continue to pay practical attention to the school environment, from teaching and learning conditions to skills education, ethics, and lifestyle for students. When the school is supported by appropriate mechanisms and specific attention, each day at school will be truly a happy day for both teachers and students.
Teacher Le Duy Khanh hopes that the Party and State will continue to pay attention to, improve and effectively implement support policies for officials and teachers working in particularly difficult areas, especially regarding preferential treatment, working conditions and professional development opportunities; prioritize policies for ethnic minority students, especially the boarding and dormitory school model, to ensure stable learning conditions and improve the quality of comprehensive education.
Emphasizing that the 14th Party Congress is a particularly important political milestone, showing innovative thinking, long-term vision and aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country in the new period, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Tan Phong ward Mua A Tru believes that the Congress will continue to pay attention to and issue breakthrough policies that are close to reality, especially in the development of a socialist-oriented market economy, gradually improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
Mr. Mua A Tru also expects the Party and State to pay attention to and focus on synchronous investment in infrastructure, especially in the field of education, in order to create favorable conditions for teaching and learning in areas that are still facing many difficulties. At the same time, pay due attention to the Northwest region, remote and isolated areas, and ethnic minority areas through sustainable development policies, contributing to narrowing the gap between regions, creating a solid foundation for the long-term development of the locality and the whole country.
From a business management perspective, Mr. Nguyen Duy Kien, Chairman of the Board of Directors cum General Director of Thanh Cong Lai Chau Joint Stock Company (Tan Uyen commune) said that over 40 years of renovation, the private economy has affirmed its increasingly important position in the socialist-oriented market economy. Not only contributing greatly to GDP, budget and job creation, the private economic sector is also a dynamic force promoting innovation, creativity, improving national competitiveness, contributing to social stability and improving people's lives.
However, from the reality of production and business activities, Mr. Nguyen Duy Kien realized that the private economy is still facing many barriers. Therefore, he expects the 14th Party Congress to continue to emphasize the requirement of strong institutional reform, perfecting a transparent and equal business environment, taking businesses and people as the center of service. State agencies need to clearly shift from "management" thinking to "service," eliminating the mechanism of asking - giving, protecting the right to freedom of business according to the law, so that businesses can confidently invest in the long term, contributing to the overall development of the locality.
