On the morning of January 20, at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, 6 large LED screens are being urgently installed to serve fans watching the AFC U23 Championship semi-final match between Vietnam and China tonight.
Recorded by Lao Dong Newspaper reporters on the morning of January 20, the atmosphere at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street is extremely urgent. Along the main road, scaffolding frames and LED screen systems have been erected permanently. Dozens of technical staff are completing the final stages such as connecting wires, checking signals and reinforcing safety.

It is known that the deployment work has been carried out urgently from the night of January 19, after the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approved the proposal. Construction units have worked overnight to ensure progress, ready to serve the audience before the ball rolls.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, the city will install a total of 6 large LED screens (size 12m x 7m) along Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, the section from Ton Duc Thang intersection to Le Loi intersection.

All funding is implemented in the form of socialization sponsored by businesses. This screen system will serve people to cheer for the semi-final match between U23 Vietnam and U23 China (January 20), as well as the third-place matches (January 23) and the final (January 24), broadcast from 8:30 PM until the end of the match.

The installation of a large screen in the central area takes place in the context of U23 Vietnam playing at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship in Saudi Arabia. After passing the group stage with 3 consecutive wins and defeating U23 UAE 3-2 in the quarterfinals, the coaching staff of the team is receiving great expectations from home fans.
Nguyen Hue pedestrian street is considered a familiar meeting point for Ho Chi Minh City fans. Most recently, on December 18, 2025, this area became a "sea of people" when it fueled the team in the SEA Games 33 men's football final.
