On the morning of February 9, in Hanoi Capital, the People's Police Newspaper (CAND) organized a conference to summarize the work in 2025, deploy the work program for 2026 and announce decisions on personnel work.
Before the conference took place, authorized by the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Major General Do Trieu Phong - Director of the Public Security Communications Department - handed over decisions on personnel work at the People's Police Newspaper.
Accordingly, on February 5, 2026, the Minister of Public Security signed a Decision on assigning Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh (55 years old), Deputy Director of the Public Security Communications Department to hold the position of Editor-in-Chief of the People's Police Newspaper.
On the same day, February 5, 2026, the Party Committee of the Public Security Communications Department issued a Decision appointing Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh to participate in the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the People's Police Newspaper Department and hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the People's Police Newspaper Department for the term 2025 - 2030.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Do Trieu Phong sent congratulations to Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh on being assigned by the Minister of Public Security to hold the position of Editor-in-Chief of CAND Newspaper.
Director Do Trieu Phong wished that Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh inherited the good and long-standing traditions of the People's Police Newspaper, and at the same time recognized the new historical period to work with the Party Committee of the department and the Editorial Board to build the People's Police Newspaper to have strong development steps and successfully complete the assigned tasks.
Speaking to receive the assignment, Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh expressed that this is a great responsibility, especially in the coming time there is a lot of work to do. Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Thanh Binh hopes to unite with the collective of the People's Police Newspaper, overcome all difficulties, and complete the task well.
Previously, on December 12, 2025, according to the decision of the Minister of Public Security, Mr. Binh was transferred and appointed to hold the position of Deputy Director of the Public Security Communications Department, from December 10, 2025.
