The Standing Committee of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee has just issued a decision to establish a working group to work with the Standing Committee of the Phu Yen Provincial Party Committee on the merger.
The working group was led by Dak Lak Provincial Party Secretary - Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung. Estimated working hours on May 30 in Phu Yen.
The working contents will focus on the implementation and unification of issues related to the merger of the two provinces.
Previously, the Party Central Committee issued Resolution 60-NQ/TW on April 12, 2025.
According to this decision, Dak Lak and Phu Yen will merge into Dak Lak province.
After the merger, the new province has an area of over 18,096 km2, with a population of over 3.3 million people. The provincial administrative center is located in the current Buon Ma Thuot city (Dak Lak).
Implementing the Central Government's policy, in recent times, Dak Lak and Phu Yen have held many working sessions (in person, online) to discuss the work of merging provinces.
Recently (May 27), the People's Committees of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces held an online conference to review, discuss and agree on the contents of the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units.
At the conference, delegates discussed and agreed on the plan to arrange means of transportation for cadres and civil servants not under the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; housing for cadres and civil servants; working headquarters for agencies after the administrative reorganization.
The two sides also discussed reviewing legal regulations, data management, digital transformation, arranging commune-level administrative units and arranging schools for children of cadres from Phu Yen to Dak Lak.
According to the plan after the merger, there will be over 1,600 cadres, civil servants and public employees from Phu Yen working at the new Dak Lak Provincial Political - Administrative Center.
Dak Lak province also develops plans to arrange vehicles, housing and workplaces for officials and civil servants from Phu Yen.
