In the afternoon of August 10, General Secretary and President To Lam received a number of typical intellectuals and scientists of the Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts Association in Australia.
At the reception, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his pleasure to learn that the Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts Association in Australia has gathered a large number of intellectuals, experts, and scientists working at universities, research institutes, and large technology corporations in Australia in recent times.
After listening to the speeches of Vietnamese intellectuals and scientists in Australia, the General Secretary and President said that in the past time, many guidelines and policies have been concretized by the Party and State, constantly being improved to better care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of the Vietnamese community abroad. Notably, after more than 20 years of implementing Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW, the work of Vietnamese people abroad has made great strides.
On the basis of inheriting the achieved results, recently, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW on the work of Vietnamese people abroad with a new step in thinking, raising the level from mobilization, gathering, care to companionship, creating mechanisms, mobilizing resources for Vietnamese people abroad to participate more deeply in the journey of integration, construction and development of the country.
Welcoming and highly appreciating the practical and responsible opinions, the General Secretary and President requested intellectuals and scientists to continue to actively propose ideas and recommendations to solve the major problems of the country. Vietnam is striving to make breakthroughs in institutions, infrastructure, human resources; creating new development spaces; promoting digital transformation, green transformation; wishing intellectuals and experts to use their work experience, combined with their understanding of Vietnamese reality, to contribute to the Party and State with breakthrough policies, management models, and technologies.
Intellectuals and scientists act as a bridge for technology transfer and development of "new production forces"; boldly introduce Vietnamese agencies and research institutes to Australia's strong partners in education, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, high-tech agriculture, renewable energy, and strategic minerals. Not only technology transfer, but more importantly, spreading scientific thinking, innovative methods, contributing to training high-quality human resources in the country.
General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that intellectuals and scientists continue to consolidate the strength of national unity, spread Vietnamese cultural values; continue to guide the young generation and Vietnamese students to study abroad; connect the community, cultivate Vietnam-Australia relations to become increasingly in-depth and substantive; and request relevant ministries, branches, and agencies to summarize, research, and closely coordinate with the Vietnamese intellectuals and scientists and experts in Australia to have specific and quality products.
