According to the Decision of the Secretariat: Transferring and appointing Mr. Do Thanh Trung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Finance to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Hai Phong City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030.
Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Hoang Trung Dung, Standing Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee, stated clearly: The fact that Mr. Do Thanh Trung was trusted to be assigned the task of Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee shows the recognition, evaluation, and concern of the Politburo, the Secretariat, as well as the leadership of the Ministry of Finance. Mr. Do Thanh Trung is assessed as a cadre with bravery, political qualities; with capacity and experience in state management, especially in the fields of general economics, planning, investment, and finance; with scientific, innovative, creative, and drastic working methods, making many important contributions to the fields of planning - investment, and finance.
Standing Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee Hoang Trung Dung proposed that in his new position, with qualities, intelligence, bravery, capacity and experience in the working process, Mr. Do Thanh Trung will quickly grasp the situation, inherit the results and experiences of previous generations; be proactive, creative, dare to think, dare to do; and together with the Party Committee and government, promote the strength of solidarity, build a clean and comprehensively strong Party Committee and political system; take the lead in building a socialist model associated with socialist people.
The Standing Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee also requested the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, Party committees, authorities, agencies in the political system, and the contingent of cadres and party members of Hai Phong City to regularly pay attention to coordination, create favorable conditions, and help Mr. Do Thanh Trung successfully complete his tasks, worthy of the trust of the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Party Committee, government, and people of Hai Phong City.
Speaking to receive the assignment, Mr. Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of Hai Phong City Party Committee, respectfully thanked the Party and State leaders, the Ministry of Finance for always supporting and helping throughout the working process; and at the same time thanked the comrades in the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Executive Committee of the Hai Phong City Party Committee for supporting and creating conditions to be assigned to work in the locality.
New Deputy Secretary of Hai Phong City Party Committee Do Thanh Trung deeply realizes that the task assigned by the Party is both an honor and a very heavy responsibility in the face of increasingly high requirements in the new era of the country. Mr. Do Thanh Trung committed that in the coming time, he will strictly adhere to the principle of democratic centralism, fully comply with the working regulations of the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee. In the immediate future, priority will be given to focusing time to quickly grasp the actual situation and soon stabilize work, not to let work be interrupted; uphold the spirit of "saying is doing, doing immediately, doing right, doing decisively, doing to the end and doing effectively", responsibility, proactiveness, creativity, innovation, listening, eagerness to learn, inheriting and promoting the results of previous leaders; closely follow the Resolutions and Conclusions of the Central Government and the city to focus on implementing and contributing to completing at the highest level the goals, targets, and key tasks set out.
Mr. Do Thanh Trung (born 1976, from Binh Dinh), is a well-trained official with a high level of political theory and expertise. He has gone through many working environments and was appointed Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment from March 2023. In February 2025, he was transferred and appointed by the Prime Minister to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Finance.
