At the recent 37th session, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on the project to establish Hue City under the Central Government and to arrange and establish administrative units at district and commune levels based on the administrative boundaries of Thua Thien Hue province.
According to Lao Dong's research, after arranging and establishing administrative units at district and commune levels in the 2023-2025 period, Hue will merge Nam Dong district with Phu Loc district to establish a new Phu Loc district.
Accordingly, Nam Dong district (647.82 km2; 26,427 people) was merged into Phu Loc district (720.41 km2; 154,179 people) to form Phu Loc district with an area of 1,368.23 km2 and a population of 180,606 people.
Merge Huong Tho commune (46.91 km2; 5,554 people) and Huong Ho ward (33.53 km2; 10,670 people) to establish a ward under Hue city. After the arrangement, Long Ho ward (new) has an area of 80.44 km2, population of 16,224 people.
Merge Hai Duong commune (9.69 km2; 6,741 people) and Thuan An ward (16.28 km2; 24,003 people) to establish a ward under Hue city. After the arrangement, Thuan An ward (new) has an area of 25.97 km2, population of 30,744 people.
Merge Phu Duong commune (5.85 km2; 12,266 people); Phu Mau commune (7.17 km2; 10,953 people) and Phu Thanh commune (7.61 km2; 4,766 people) to establish a ward under Hue city. After the arrangement, Duong No ward (new) has an area of 20.63 km2, population of 27,985 people.
Establish Thuy Bang ward of Hue city on the basis of the entire administrative boundary of Thuy Bang commune, Hue city. After the arrangement, Thuy Bang ward (new) has an area of 22.78 km2, population of 9,153 people.
Establishment of Huong Phong ward in Hue city on the basis of the entire administrative boundary of Huong Phong commune, Hue city. After the arrangement, Huong Phong ward (new) has an area of 16.68 km2, population of 10,574 people.
Establish Loc Son town in Phu Loc district on the basis of the entire administrative boundary of Loc Son commune, Phu Loc district. After the arrangement, Loc Son town has an area of 18.99 km2, population of 8,593 people.
Also according to the investigation, the number of district-level cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers who were arranged and established in relevant units was 11,133 positions (66 cadres, 529 civil servants and 10,538 public employees).
The surplus at the district level is 64 positions (16 cadres, 28 civil servants, 20 public employees).
Of which, after the arrangement of Phu Loc district and Nam Dong district to establish the new Phu Loc district, there will be 3,041 positions. Of which, 2,997 positions will be arranged; it is expected that there will be a surplus of 64 positions (16 cadres, 28 civil servants, 20 public employees).
